Aljon “AJ” Almarez

Hello there, I’m Aljon Almarez or AJ for short. I’m a sophomore pursuing a advertising major with a business management minor. I love all things digital media, such as, graphic design and photography.

Background

I was born on the island of Maui where the sun is always out. I love everything that deals with digital media, which includes, graphic design, videography, and photography. I’ve been exposed designing and editing for a little over five years now. It seems like I’ve been designing for so long, but there’s always room for improvement. Other than designing and editing, I’m also into living a healthy lifestyle. For example, I enjoy running and playing basketball. One of my hobbies are collecting shoes, I’m what others call a “sneakerhead”. For the most part, I buy shoes just to personally wear or sometimes to collect and maybe even sell it. I love the idea of purchasing and collecting shoes because it shows how much the fashion or style changed over time.

Purpose

This blog will be use to post my own content I’ve created in my COM 210 course. The content will range from graphic design and videography. You will see the process and evolution of my work throughout this semester.

Goals

My goals are not only to grow as a student, but specifically as a designer. I enjoy learning new things that will better my work. Opening up to constructive criticism is needed to achieve both goals because as a designer you’re not just pleasing yourself, but more so the customer or client. By taking this class, I hope it will fulfill my desire to be better by learning the process needed to finalize media content.
