Idea Inspiration:
I decided to create a organization called “Run for Fun” which is related to my topic of running. For my inspiration, I decided to go create a person-like figure running through a banner with the words run and fun. To add creativity, I wanted the person running to have a form or figure of a four because it’s another way of representing the word for.
When I was first thinking about ideas of my logo, I thought of marathon runners which typically relates to my topic. This relates to my topic because my whole topic is running in general and marathon running is a form of running. The idea of running through the banner also comes from marathon running which is represented in my logo draft.
Design Process:
The whole principle of my logo is based on marathon running. From the person running and the banner that’s ran through by the runners is represented. I also added a creative aspect of the design by making the form of the man running close to the number four. The significance of my design would be how uniform the logo looks and how it visually shows an image of a man running through a banner.
The design process went smoothly and certain parts were done more difficultly than it should. I started off tracing off my running man figure I created on my sketch with the pen tool. Having a reference to trace made it easier to do. Next, I separately designed each side of the banner which is pretty difficult to do. I created two rectangles for the most part, but towards the end I had to curve the edges to make seem like the figure was running through the banner. Then I added texts run and fun to finish of my design. The final step was added color to the design and thickening the strokes to make things stand out more.
Technical Detail
The tools I used were the pen tool, stroke, text tool, and the color palette.
A difficulty I faced was trying my best to matched the edges of my rectangles for my banner to the middle figure. In order to do this, I needed to take my time and focus, and not rush.
Sources and Material:
There were no outside material used to design my logo, but there were a few references that I used to help create my draft. For instance, I made a banner that is similar to the tutorials we were assigned to do for class. The idea of incorporating banners was big for me because it makes designs look more organize. The font I used was “Arial Rounded MT Bold” because I felt it was one of the few fonts that were simple but stood out the most. I also used the outline of a four to create the person running.

Looking back at my logo draft, I feel there isn’t enough detail of the person running in order to represent it as the number four. I showed my logo to a couple of my friends and a few of them said “Run Fun” instead of run for fun. The outline of the left banner and runner doesn’t match well as the right banner which makes the logo no consistent. On the other hand, the colors and font works well together. The banner red stands out, while the black the figure and white text complements it and puts it together. The design I created is simple and straightforward making it easy to look at. For my final logo attempt, I plan to focus my work on fixing the middle figure to make it look like the number four and as a runner. Once that’s done I believe the logo will be complete.

Aljon,
So far im really loving your logo, it definitely looks professionally made because of its simplistic design.I feel like i would see this logo somewhere at either a marathon or on a t-shirt. The first thing that i notice is the bright red logo that really catches the eye and makes the on-looker curious on what its about. the other thing that i also noticed was that you incorporated the banner tutorial into your design, which also adds to that professional feel. Reading your self critique i never would have noticed that the running man was meant to symbolize the number 4 and it makes more sense now because i read it as “run Fun” and not “Run 4 Fun”. overall i really like your design, but as you know, you should work on the running figure so that it clearly looks like the number 4.

I really like how simple your logo is, it is easy to read and understand what it is about. I really like the idea of having the figure running through the banner and being shaped as a 4 to represent the word “for” in “run for fun”. I would recommend that you change the figure to make it look a little more like a 4, when first glancing at the logo I’m not able to tell that it is a 4. I also would recommend that you play around with the banner, maybe make it look like it is waving in the wind by curving it. I really like the font that you used for “Run Fun”, it stands out while still being subtle. Overall great design idea and the execution is terrific, can’t wait to see your final design!

One thing I really liked about your design was how you created the figure in the middle of your text, your design was really well created. I really like how you incorporated the ribbon with your design and added the man running in the middle, you portrayed your topic really well throughout your logo. Two things you could improve on your design could be playing around with the color of the ribbon and the font on the ribbon, you can find different fonts to make your logo stand out a lot more. Another area you could improve on could be your figure in the middle of the ribbon, you could a find a way to make the right arm next to the run look more even to the ribbon. Overall, I would say nice job on your project, you did a nice job presenting your topic through your logo.
